Revised Statues - Chapter 35 Fire Companies and Firefighters

Any rural or suburban fire protection district organized pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 35, article 5, may be divided into two or more districts in the manner provided by sections 35-523 to 35-528. Such proposed division may be initiated only by the filing of a petition signed by legal voters of the district equal in number to ten percent of the votes cast in the district for Governor at the last general election. Such petition shall be filed with the county clerk of the county having the greatest area of such district.
