All county, city, village, school district, irrigation district, drainage district, and precinct bonds and bonds of districts organized under the provisions of Chapter 31 or 39 shall be registered in the office of the Auditor of Public Accounts, except that
(1) bonds of a city of the metropolitan class shall be registered in the office of the city comptroller and in the office of the Auditor of Public Accounts,
(2) bonds of a Class V school district in such city of the metropolitan class shall be registered in the office of the secretary of the board of education and in the office of the Auditor of Public Accounts,
(3) bonds of a city of the primary class shall be registered in the finance department of the city and in the office of the Auditor of Public Accounts, and
(4) revenue bonds of a city of the first or second class or of a village shall be registered in the office of the finance officer of such city or village and in the office of the Auditor of Public Accounts.
